Day 5 - Day to thank everyone for supporting WaterAid

Today I completed my goal of 5x 10km per day.

It is a day to thank everyone who came along with me on the journey.

In the photo, I have 4 of my running mates that joined in on the last 10km run to help me get there.  It's so good when the community 'has your back' and support you.

Wateraid Australia gets involved with local communities and provides infrastructure and education so that these communities can continue to maintain their new water and toilet facilities with ongoing benefits to human health and hygiene.

Thank you again on behalf of Wateraid, for the huge support with this fundraising activity.

Day 4 - 1 hour per day (I've nominated running)

Day 4 and ran without music - no headphones.
It's a great way to clear the head and practice gratitude.
Knowing how difficult underprivileged families find access to water (some 700M of them) gives me pause to stop and be grateful of how good life is here in Australia.  Cost of living crisis is nothing compared to no having clean water and sanitation close to your home and having to walk for your water, hence the charity name.
Really appreciate the strong support coming through from the local community including fellow runners and family.
Thank you to everyone that have been so generous in the sponsorship. It's such a worthwhile organisation - WaterAid Australia

Day 3 ~ 1 hr per Day = 10km running

Today, I stopped at a local water bubbler in the park and appreciated just how lucky we are.   I realise how much we take the accessibility to clean water and sanitation for granted.

It amazing how attitude can affect performance.
This week I am finding it easier to run than usual because I have a clear goal in mind and it's not for myself but to support people that haven't had the privileges that I have had living in Australia.

Day 2 - 1 Hour of running = 10km

Feeling blessed this morning with great weather and a beautiful location to complete my "Walk for Water" Activity.  Whilst I have always worked hard for the lifestyle I have; I am extremely grateful for the luck and privilege of being born in Australia.  It gives me great sense of purpose this week to work hard and run 10km per day to raise awareness and much needed funds for those less fortunate

Day-1 - Started Activity and completed the 1st Hour.

Beautiful Day in Brisbane today for the start of my nominated 1 hour per day activities to help fundraise for WaterAid.

Working in the water industry, we know how much impact clean water and sanitation has on human health and prosperity for a community.

We enthusiastically support WaterAid and the "Walk for Water" activity is a great way to raise awareness and much needed funding.

Why I'm walking, running & riding for water this October!

703 million people in the world – almost one in ten – do not have clean water close to home. Every day, women and children walk long distances to collect and carry water for their families. Girls and boys often begin collecting water as children and girls continue to collect and carry water throughout their lives. Many girls spend hours each day collecting water, which can cause them to miss time at school. And not only that, sometimes the water they are forced to collect is dirty, carrying water borne diseases and leading to sickness in their community.

This is why we need your help – we are asking you to walk for water, so that they don’t have to.

By walking, running or riding for five days, you can raise awareness and funds so people around the world can access clean water for the first time.

Please donate to my fundraising page to contribute to WaterAid's amazing work. For just $50, WaterAid could buy water system tools to provide a rural community with clean water.

The more people that know about WaterAid, the more we can achieve together.

Please spread the word by sharing my fundraising page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
