Day 5 Last Day!

Last shot to hit it out of the ball park and my phone dies of battery. As they say, if it wasn’t on Strava, it never happened! ??????

I did do enough recordable time today to meet the pledge and so with that, I want to thank all my family in name and in spirit for sponsoring this initiative.

At my end, I was definitely more reflective this week about my own use of water and how difficult I would have found life to be without having it on tap. I have to say that it was much MORE enjoyable doing this challenge than the water challenge where I had to replace all drinks with water. I found (without coffee) another me in that challenge!

Keep safe everyone and Bella sends her love and has enjoyed every bit of this week. THANK YOU!

Day 4

Day of small incremental walks to make the pledge in between work travel commute!

Nursing joint pain after consecutive days and thinking of countless others that do the journey because that’s the only choice they have to get water.

One more day, it’s been an interesting exercise to reflect and practice gratefulness.

Day 3

Mid week update!

Bella and I continue our pledge 3rd day in a row (much to her joy!) and we came across our water fountains at the park.
What a contrast this makes to the those that don’t have easy access to clean water. I’m so thankful and grateful how easy it is for us to have water on demand and the funds raised here will make possible to make it happen for those that do not have it.

Water woes are also something my own family back home is experiencing with water disruptions and it’s great to see Xylem technology used in these utilities to detect leaks.

Onward to Day 4!

Day 2

Shifted out a meeting to meet a commitment to Walk for Water today. Coupled that with two phone calls talking to the team.
Efficiency plus!

On the upside, Bella the dog is stoked at getting a long walk. All her dreams come true!

Day 1

Hit the park combining 3 activities in 1 (productivity plus!); walk the dog + 1-1 + Walk for Water!

A real appreciation for water when we need it; the park bathrooms were being renovated which meant what was considered an amenity was closed off for use. Many people across the world do not have the luxury of what we take for granted; clean water, flushing toilets and water on tap!

A small way to reflect and practice gratefulness.

Why I'm walking, running & riding for water this October!

How far would you walk for a glass of water? In Africa and Asia, women have to walk an average of 6 kilometres to collect water. That's why I’m challenging myself to walk, run or ride for one hour a day between 19 and 23 October, to raise money to help provide lifesaving safe water to some of the world’s poorest communities.

WaterAid’ mission is to reach everyone, everywhere with clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene within a generation. This vision inspires me, and I hope it inspires you too.

Please donate to my fundraising page to contribute to WaterAid's amazing work. For just $50, WaterAid could help run a handwashing campaign to reduce the spread of COVID-19, while $140 could help provide hygiene education to frontline healthcare workers.

The more people that know about WaterAid, the more we can achieve together. Please spread the word by sharing my fundraising page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
