Why I’m Walking for Water

I’m a parent of three kids — one boy and two girls. They wake up each day in a world where clean water is never in question. They drink when they’re thirsty, shower before school, and never have to worry about where their next drop of water will come from.
But not every child lives in that world. And that’s hard to accept when we all share the same planet.
Imagine your little girl waking up before sunrise. Instead of getting ready for school, she picks up a heavy container and begins the long walk to the nearest water source. The journey is hot and exhausting, and when she finally arrives, the water she collects isn’t even safe to drink. By the time she returns home, hours have passed. School has already begun — and she’s missed out again.
This isn’t just one girl’s story. It’s the daily reality for millions of women and children around the world. In fact, 703 million people – almost 1 in 10 – still don’t have clean water close to home.
That’s why I’ve decided to take part in Walk for Water. For five days, I’ll be walking to raise awareness and funds for WaterAid — so children like her don’t have to.
? Here’s how you can help:
-
Just $50 could provide tools to bring clean water to a rural community.
-
Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to a world where no one has to walk for water.
Please consider supporting me by donating through my fundraising page. And if you can’t donate right now, you can still help by sharing my page to spread the word.
Thank you for helping me take steps toward a future where every child can spend their day learning, playing, and growing — not walking for water. ?
Why I'm walking, running & riding for water this October!
703 million people in the world – almost one in ten – do not have clean water close to home. Every day, women and children walk long distances to collect and carry water for their families. Girls and boys often begin collecting water as children and girls continue to collect and carry water throughout their lives. Many girls spend hours each day collecting water, which can cause them to miss time at school. And not only that, sometimes the water they are forced to collect is dirty, carrying water borne diseases and leading to sickness in their community.
This is why we need your help – we are asking you to walk for water, so that they don’t have to.
By walking, running or riding for five days, you can raise awareness and funds so people around the world can access clean water for the first time.
Please donate to my fundraising page to contribute to WaterAid's amazing work. For just $50, WaterAid could buy water system tools to provide a rural community with clean water.
The more people that know about WaterAid, the more we can achieve together.
Please spread the word by sharing my fundraising page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
Great Work Jason
