water is life, it sustains life, and all that belongs toCountry,

TODAY is Walk, Run or Bike... for water, bringing awareness of the importance of water, we all need water to sustain life to sustain Country and all that belongs to Country, Did you know? The Geelong region of Wadawurrung Country has one of Australia's fastest growing populations and every new home and person needs water, and we have two of the nation's most flow-stressed rivers, :( The Moorabool river is in crisis, stressed, Environmental concerns, SO today, A day that people are asked to bring awareness, fundraise by walk, ride or run.. As a Board of Director of Barwon Water I joined Barwon Waters GM Shaun Cummings who commited himself to run 44kms of the Moorabool River, one run Broken down into 4 legs along dirt tracks and roads following the river,  a hill climb up to LAL LAL  reservior, I ran the 1st and 4th leg with him from Durdiwarrah to Lal lal falls, Bunjils resting place.. We ran in rain, wind, hills, slipperry track, but seeing Country this way was beautiful. BUT the pain we conquered was nothing, thinking of remote Communities, and Countries around the world that do not have clean water to sustain life and health... There is a Fundraising page and anyone that has a dollar or $23 for the kms I ran feel free to dodonateor the 46kms Shaun ran, 100% goes to a good cause... Shoutout to Shaun's best mate and Son, joining the last leg and family waiting at the finish line.. What a inpirational leader in our region to see Shaun give his all as the GM to raise awareness.. Great leadership...

Why I'm walking, running & riding for water this October!

703 million people in the world – almost one in ten – do not have clean water close to home. Every day, women and children walk long distances to collect and carry water for their families. Girls and boys often begin collecting water as children and girls continue to collect and carry water throughout their lives. Many girls spend hours each day collecting water, which can cause them to miss time at school. And not only that, sometimes the water they are forced to collect is dirty, carrying water borne diseases and leading to sickness in their community.

This is why we need your help – we are asking you to walk for water, so that they don’t have to.

By walking, running or riding for five days, you can raise awareness and funds so people around the world can access clean water for the first time.

Please donate to my fundraising page to contribute to WaterAid's amazing work. For just $50, WaterAid could buy water system tools to provide a rural community with clean water.

The more people that know about WaterAid, the more we can achieve together.

Please spread the word by sharing my fundraising page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
