We're taking part in Winnovators!

This year, we're taking part in Winnovators, WaterAid’s employee development program. We'll be competing to solve a real-world problem while learning new skills; thinking outside the box to invent life-changing ideas, and transforming people's futures by fundraising for clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene.

What is Water Aid?

An international not-for-profit, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation.

What is Winnovators?

  • Opportunity for WSP Water professionals to apply their know how on real world scenarios.

  • Help deliver WaterAid's goal of accessible and equitable water, sanitation and hygiene for all people.

Sanitation and Hygiene in PNG 

  • PNG is one of only 10 countries globally where 20% of the population has access to just a basic standard of sanitation (WHO/UNICEF, 2023). 

  • Approximately 76% of the population uses unimproved sanitation or practices open defecation. Climate-related crises exacerbate the risk of contamination of water and food sources from human waste and the spread of waterborne diseases, such as cholera (WHO/UNICEF, 2023).
