FAQs

What is Walk for Water?

add remove

We are challenging you to walk every day for five days to raise funds to support WaterAid Australia.

Get creative about how you might incorporate walking into your every day life. Some ways you could do this with your school include:

  • A nature walk each day – either during a class or at lunchtime
  • Encouraging students to walk to school or part of the way to school every day during the week (we encourage primary school aged students to always walk with a guardian)

When and Where is Walk for Water?

add remove

There is no set time for Walk for Water Schools. Pick a week that suits you and your school! We have a corporate event that takes place in October but Walk for Water Schools can take place at any time.

What do I have to do?

add remove

Walk the distance of your choice every day for five days and fundraise for WaterAid at the same time. Wherever you live, whatever your fitness level, you chose the place and pace to complete your Walk for Water.

As many as you like!

You can choose to set up a single fundraising page for your team or invite your teammates to set up their own pages and together you can work towards your overall team goal and target. Each of you will manage your own personal fundraising account, where you can track your distance and fundraising, but everyone’s tally will be added up and combined on your team page

If you have a school list that you would like to add to your team or need help with your team please email events@wateraid.org.au and we can assist you.

Raising money may be a daunting task but that’s why we are here. We will help you with your challenge and provide support to achieve your goals, but we do understand that it is not always possible. Check out our Ways to fundraise page for ideas to get you started.

Even if you don’t reach your fundraising goal, we appreciate the efforts you have put on it. Every dollar counts! Your fundraising efforts will still become a part of the collective efforts helping people around the world to access clean water for the first time - and that's pretty incredible.
