I had the privilege of backpacking around wonderful Southeast Asia for 6 months, including beautiful Cambodia, years ago.

So I’ve decided to take part in WaterAid’s Winnovators program this year, as part of my organisation's team of volunteers, Seqwater. Our team will be:

• Competing to solve the challenge of innovating an Affordable and Sustainable Sludge Treatment Solution for Small Private Water Operators (SPWOs) in Cambodia. SPWOs support most of the country’s rural communities.

• Transforming the lives of some of the world's poorest and most marginalised peoples by fundraising for WaterAid for clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene.

BACKGROUND: WaterAid is an international not-for-profit organisation (NGO) focused on providing access to clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene for all, especially for the world's poorest and most marginalised peoples. WaterAid's vision is a world where everyone has access to these essentials. They work through local partners and focus on strengthening relevant sectors to deliver water, sanitation, and hygiene services. WaterAid is highly rated by independent charity reviewer, Charity Navigator (90%, 4/4 star rating).
