Why we're walking for water.
At Beck Water, water is our business — but more than that, it's our family's history. Our roots in community infrastructure go back to the 1930s, and for generations we've worked to make sure water reaches the people who need it.
That's why the numbers behind Walk For Water hit home for us. Right now, 696 million people — almost one in ten of us — don't have clean water close to where they live. In some communities, women and children walk hours every day just to collect water, missing school and work in the process. It's a problem we spend our working lives trying to solve here in Australia, and we know how much of a difference reliable water access makes to a family, a school, a whole community.
So this October, the Beck Walkers are lacing up. We're walking, running and riding for five days to raise funds and awareness so more people can get access to clean water for the first time.
