Why we're walking, running & riding for water this October.
Let's create a better life with water
We’re proud that Sydney has some of the best drinking water in the world. For us, accessing clean drinking water is often as simple as turning on a tap, but for 703 million people across the world who aren’t as fortunate as us, it means sending women and children to walk long distances every day to collect and carry water for their families. This restricts them from attending school and reaching their full potential.
We’re Australia’s largest water utility, servicing over 5 million customers from the Illawarra all the way to the Blue Mountains with drinking water, wastewater and some stormwater services.
We know water. We know having clean water doesn’t just end thirst. It starts incredible change.
From flourishing waterways and ecosystems, cooling urban cities, boosting agriculture and enabling good sanitation and hygiene…Water is essential to life. It’s a basic human right.
That’s why we’re inviting you to help raise awareness and funds for WaterAid to enable communities around the world to have access to clean water. At Sydney Water, we’re walking for water, so that they don’t have to.
