Mid Week Update

My transformation in my health and wellness this year has altered so much in my world.

I now have more vitality and energy.

I can now tie my shoes with ease.

I have gone from having panic attacks, anxious a lot of the time, to being resilient and happy.

I am more connected with friends, family, and colleagues, than I have ever been. hashtag#betterrelationships

I am stronger.

I am very grateful for everything I have as not everyone has access to the luxuries and necessities that I do.

This is why this week I am doing hashtag#walkforwater (30th September – 4th October).

Dedicating myself to 5 hours of walking/running while raising money for WaterAid Australia (which is also my training towards running 11km on the 3rd November).

703 million people in the world – almost one in ten – do not have clean water close to home. Every day, women and children walk long distances to collect and carry water for their families. Girls and boys often begin collecting water as children and girls continue to collect and carry water throughout their lives. Many girls spend hours each day collecting water, which can leave them with less time to go to school.

WaterAid is an international not-for-profit, determined to make clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation.

My Story

I started a new job in January working for the Director of Operations - ANZ Water Kate Simmonds (she/her) at Jacobs

I love working for a team of Engineers (over 500) that are passionate about all things Water from ensuring water supply, our waterways are pollution-free, and less flooding across our cities (this minimises what they do - they are pretty amazing).

Around the same time I started a health and wellness journey where I have gone from walking barely 2000 steps a day to running my first 11km race on the 3rd November (currently running 9km). Losing close to 25kg so far.

I am putting my training to good use over the next few days and raising money for WaterAid

First run (since being sick for a week) - 30 mins on the treadmill

It was tough work but I did it!!!

Training for my first 11km run & Raising money for a good cause!!!

703 million people in the world – almost one in ten – do not have clean water close to home. Every day, women and children walk long distances to collect and carry water for their families. Girls and boys often begin collecting water as children and girls continue to collect and carry water throughout their lives. Many girls spend hours each day collecting water, which can cause them to miss time at school. And not only that, sometimes the water they are forced to collect is dirty, carrying water borne diseases and leading to sickness in their community.

This is why we need your help – we are asking you to walk for water, so that they don’t have to.

By walking, running or riding for five days, you can raise awareness and funds so people around the world can access clean water for the first time.

Please donate to my fundraising page to contribute to WaterAid's amazing work. For just $50, WaterAid could buy water system tools to provide a rural community with clean water.

The more people that know about WaterAid, the more we can achieve together.

Please spread the word by sharing my fundraising page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
