You could help solve a water,
sanitation and hygiene problem
on an international scale!
Winnovators is WaterAid's employee development program. It provides the opportunity for your staff to engage with and help further the work of WaterAid - work that is made possible through your ongoing support.
Winnovators provides a unique chance for cross-organisational teams within your business to collaborate and work together to develop solutions for challenges faced in the communities we work in.
Teams participating in Winnovators 2023, will compete to solve a real-world water, sanitation and hygiene challenge currently faced by our Country Partner Timor-Leste while learning new skills, thinking outside the box and raising valuable funds for WaterAid.
Who is WaterAid?
WaterAid is an international not-for-profit, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation.
Since we started in 1981, we’ve remained resolutely focused on tackling these three essentials that change people’s lives. Without all three, people can’t live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty, and change their lives for good. Children grow up healthy and strong, women and men get to earn a living, whole communities start to thrive. It sounds normal and it should be.
By inspiring people and sparking chain reactions we help deliver lasting change in what’s normal. By working closely with partners internationally and on the ground in some of the toughest places in the world, we help achieve widespread change. Millions of people have already taken control of their lives and built better futures.
Now we are working with our supporters and partners to get clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to everyone, everywhere by 2030. It’s about more than installing taps, toilets, boreholesand wells. To make lasting change happen on a massive scale, we:
– convince governments to change laws;
– link policy makers with people on the ground;
– change attitudes and behaviours;
– pool knowledge and resources; and
– rally support from people and organisations around the world.?
Together, we will change millions of lives for the better – and change normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation.

“A key highlight has been meeting and collaborating with other Young Professional in completely different disciplines from across Asia-Pacific region. The teams have also enjoyed getting to know their team members and forming a strong foundation. Lastly the teams have been starting to get a glimpse into life in India and are keen to understand more as the Challenge continues.”

“The value of working for six months with a diverse group of people was of great benefit. It was also important to be given the opportunity to work with people in different teams that we normally don’t work with in our organisation. This highlighted to us that, although we have our own objectives and workloads, we chose to come together for a greater common goal in the WaterAid challenge. It really helped me appreciate our core values – Respect, Honesty and Integrity – and that we could incorporate this in our problem solving.
“We were given great direction from WaterAid and support along the way to achieve our objectives. The process helped us along step by step and enabled us to tackle the program's three elements – Solve, Fund and Learn – for a greater cause for a real-life problem for WaterAid India.”
